Since last time we spoke, things have progressed!
My Husband’s Wives has been ‘unveiled’ as an Aria Fiction new title for May – which means that now they’ve told the world there’s no excuse for me hiding away anymore.
The publisher and agent had both hinted in the past that once this happened there would be increased traffic, people just taking a wander in to see what it’s all about. Well, you do, don’t you?
I’ve certainly done it often enough! I’ve come across a book and thought ‘Aha!’ and headed straight to whatever link is underneath the blurb. Now, it’s easier than ever to track down the author. Information is everywhere – I couldn’t tell you half the places on the internet that my mug shot is hanging about, but I know it’s out there.
The funny thing is that it makes you think of that old saying, ‘the more things change, the more things stay the same.’ My world, here, in the west of Ireland, surrounded by family and friends and a cat that seems to grow fatter every time he comes through the door – my world hasn’t really changed at all.
Perhaps I’m doing more writing and a little less reading! Perhaps I have more obligations than I had before. But my day is no longer and my week still flies by! The only difference is that every so often, I pinch myself! (Yes, still doing it.) Why?
It’s a number of things and if I was to start at the top of the list and work down on all the things I have to be grateful for, this could be the longest post in history. I will say though, that I do count myself a lucky girl to have met so many nice people along the way to publication and the fact that they continue to cross my path is an enormous bonus.
Yes, people are buying the book and making contact to say ‘hi,’ and that’s all really lovely. One lady came up to me in a supermarket car park to tell me she bought the book and I was, I have to say, touched. Why? Well, if it was me, I would have just bought the book, but the actual contact, to put a face on a reader, it’s… well it’s somewhat humbling. There are emails and tweets and all sorts, from people just saying that they’re looking forward to reading it – how nice is that?
On Goodreads people have shelved it – I’m pretty new to GR so I had to look that up! But, OMG – how cool is that?
In less than two weeks the blog tour begins – lots of work has gone into this by everyone, and you know, everyone involved was just so sweet and kind.
So, if you’re reading this, and you’ve bought my book already – thank you so much – I’m thrilled you’re hopping on the journey with us!
