Hi Faith – Thank you for taking part in this q and a as part of a blog tour Would you like to start by introducing yourself to my readers..?

Hi Natalie,

It’s lovely to be here, I love dropping by your ‘reading cloud,’ it’s lovely to get a look at what you’re reading and up to!

Me, I’m a book girl too, always have been.

Like most writers, I’m a reader first and my love of books is as strong today as ever. There’s nothing nicer than losing yourself on a wet afternoon with a great book. And, living in the west of Ireland, we are ‘lucky,’ to have lots of wet days! Apart from writing, I’m a mum, wife and cat nut!

My Husbands Wives tell us a bit about this?

My Husband’s Wives, started out with the idea of ‘what if…’ I began to think about how our families and lives are connected, and how many lives change in an instant on the ring of a bell, or the opening of a door.

It’s an uplifting story, as much about friendship as about relationships and it’s about growing up and becoming the person you want to become and it’s never too late to do that. The characters in the book learn that sometimes letting go is the best way to hold on to what is really important.

The story itself is set in Dublin, but really, it could be set anywhere in the world, it’s a book about relationships, jealousy, love and moving forward.

How did you go about doing the research for this book?

This is a book for the lives we live today! It’s a story that could happen to any of us. The characters bring you along and I suppose that an understanding of human nature is as much a part of writing this book as any book. My background in psychology probably helped though!

Who are your favourite Authors? And what genre of books do you enjoy reading? If you have time.

I’ll read anything – really, from Ulysses to cereal packets! Generally, I like a story with characters you can invest in, and there has to be a bit of a twist!

My favourite books of all time include Ivanhoe and Pride and Prejudice, but there are too many more to start listing them…

In recent years I’ve loved books like Olivia Glazebrooks, ‘Never Mind Miss Fox,’ Alan Bennets, ‘The Uncommon Reader,’ and ‘Elizabeth is Missing,’ by Emma Healey.

What is the best thing about being a writer?

The best thing, probably, is closing the door and getting lost in a little world that you’ve created and can absorb you so deeply, you’re unaware of anything else around you for hours on end. Bliss!

I think writers write, and whether you’re published or not, getting to the desk regularly is like oxygen – even if I don’t get to write every single day; if I miss a day, I’m itching to get back to it!

Do you have a favourite writing place?

I’ve written just about everywhere! But, the best place, if I’m really knuckling down is at home. I have a home office, with desk, chair and kettle near at hand. Once the door is closed, (and I’m not distracted by a Reading CloudJ) I will happily potter away until I’m called.

And finally – have you started writing your next book? Any clues as to what it maybe about? I am sure my readers would love to know

I’m really excited about Book 2. It has a name that I love, but I will bow to the wisdom of my publisher – who is really good with names, so for the moment, shssh…

It’s different from My Husband’s Wives, in that it’s inspired by the coastline near where I live and while the characters have gotten under my skin, they jump around over a time frame of sixty odd years – so it’s great fun! Book 2, for me, is a love story, if not exactly a formulaic one!

I love it, and I’m looking forward to getting it in front of people!

Thank you for taking the time to answer these.

Thanks, so much for having me over Nat, I’ll be keeping an eye out for good reads coming up and enjoying the reviews!
